Our continent is inbuilt with great talents, diverse natural resources, benevolent and amazing stories of transformation. Though, over the years the lack of effective development structure and bad governance in Africa have limited the potential of becoming one of the foremost continents in the world.

The Power of Africa (POA) Award is a recognition initiative celebrating outstanding Africans whose achievements, ideas, talents, innovations and leadership are contributing to Africa's progress and changing the way the world sees the continent.
POA Award celebrates the stories of passion, purpose and personalities.
The Award recognize African achievers, emerging talents, innovators, influential personalities and record-breaking individuals across the continent and in the diaspora.
Beyond recognition, POA Award provides a platform for exceptional Africans to tell, amplify and celebrate their stories of impact, innovation and positive change. From technology and business to agriculture, entertainment, healthcare, leadership, sports and social development, the POA Award shines a spotlight on individuals making meaningful contributions within their
communities, industries and across Africa.

Young Africans who are demonstrating exceptional achievement, leadership, innovation and influence within their chosen fields and communities.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
The POA Awards are open to Africans and people of African descent with verifiable achievements in any of these 15 POA sector classifications:
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Candidates are expected to meet the relevant requirements for their award category and demonstrate a record of meaningful achievement.
1. Age
Candidates for the POA 30 Under-30 category must be 30 years old or younger at the time of nomination.
2. Gender
Candidates for the POA 30-Women Highflyers ‘W-30’ category must be Women.
3. African Identity
Candidates must be African or of African descent. Africans living in the diaspora must demonstrate a clear and identifiable connection to an African country.
4. Sector Relevance
A nominee's achievements must align with at least one of the 15 POA Award sector categories listed above.
5. Leadership & Excellence
Candidates should demonstrate exceptional achievement, leadership and meaningful impact within their field, profession, industry or community.
6. Character & Reputation
Candidates should have a positive public image, strong values and exemplary character consistent with the recognition they seek.
7. Inspiring Journey
Strong candidates should have a compelling story demonstrating one or more of the following:
